If you’ve been following me for some time you know that I LOVE traveling as much as I love discounted things. It’s no secret I’m a Cheap Chiquita, Discount Debbie, 50% off Patricia.

When we first took Renny to Disney in 2018 we were a brand new family on one salary 🫠 Let’s leave that there.

I, ignorant of all the changes that would take place in a decade, happily told my hubby we could just purchase tickets for July 4th and just go.

I cringed while typing that because “just go” was NOT IT.

It was hot.

It was super crowded.

Me and Tavien and the baby were all miserable.

It’s when Tavien said to me that our local amusement park was better that I knew I really messed up.

“Ain’t nothing better than Walt Disney World™️” I thought to myself, but I hadn’t done a good job of showing it obviously.

I said then that I wanted to take her back for her 5th birthday and needed to find a way to make this happen! On top of that I need to wow her daddy because ain’t no way he’s saying this about my favorite park!

Last July right after her fourth birthday I started doing research on WDW.

Countless hours of YouTube videos were downloaded to my brain - I may have gone down the rabbit hole.

I joined Facebook groups which lead me straight to a travel agent (which I’ve never used before because I’m so, you know, well travelled *cringeeee) and I was on my way.

Except who tf was paying four bands for a trip? Do you know how much I go to Belize for?

Uh uh.

I wrestled back and forth all summer about the cost of my trip, because after all, I could buy my first few designer items for that price! Why mama can’t get a Louis bag with the matching wristlet?

In late November I finally put my deposit of $200 down for the trip when I found a deal that I felt was worth it.

I had 9 weeks to pay it off now!

A month later I found $60 RT flights out of an airport 4 hours away and compared that to my local airports fare - and I decided to save $640 per ticket by driving to the Chi!

Booking my Disney trip was easy, but I realized gaps in the system that I could fill.

Being so rabbit holey, so super focused on my trip allowed me to plan a trip that a) was cheaper and offered more than I was quoted and b) knocked the mf socks off that man and his kid.

BEFORE WE GOT ON PROPERTY Tavien was smiling from ear to ear listening to the Uber driver gush about all the things he could do during our week long trip.

That man made us watch a Walt Disney documentary as soon as we got into our gorgeous hotel room (and after he called his friends to show them the room, play the music for them, and proceed to high step across the room like he was in a Mardi Gras parade).

On our second day in the parks (third day of vacay) he started talking about staying at Monorail resorts for his “next trip” 😂

And that’s when I said “hey I could do this for somebody else”.

If I could plan a flawless, enchanting vacation that got my man not questioning how much things cost, then I could do this for somebody else. 😂

After being home a few weeks, and being sad that due to our adult status I can’t just book a Christmas vacay, I decided I’d get my credentials to help fun loving families and silly kids at heart like us get to their vacation of their dreams.

Thus, Fresh Pearl Travel Company, is born!
